One night, moved by a mysterious force, I go to the cliff. With the engine off, I hear the breathing of Krabi. In fact it is only the swishing of the waves caressing the reefs, the slight creaking of an old rubber tree, the whispering of frangipani petals falling on the ground, the murmurs of the sleeping flora and fauna. Yet these scattered sounds merge and harmonise into a whole, the lifeblood of Krabi. "Krabi" is followed by "La mort de l'arbre", two short stories translated from Korean by François Blocquaux and Lee Ki-jung
Park Hyoung-su was born in 1972 in Chuncheon (South Korea), he teaches creative writing at Korea University and part of a youth group writers who strive to break the codes of traditional narrative to find new modes of expression.
