Dza Pältrül Jigme Chökyi Wangpo lived from 1808 to 1887. He followed many teachings and became Lama Dza Patrül Rinpoche. He studied great texts from the Buddhist canon and as a result wrote his magnum opus: Künzang Lamä Zhällung, translated into French under the title: Le Chemin de la grande perfection. Lama Dza Patrül retired for many years to caves, especially in the Rudam Valley, where the Yangwen Shinje and Tshering Phug Meditation Caves are high places of retreat in the Dzogchen tradition.
